What if we talked about cancer?
As soon as the word is uttered, it is usually followed by silence. For each of us, it touches on a sensitive subject, one that is sometimes still painful, too close to home, or simply a source of anxiety. It's not easy to find the right words to talk about it, and yet, the Emperor of All Maladies, as Siddhartha Mukherjee calls it in his “Biography of Cancer,” continues to grow at an alarming rate... We have to face this epidemic head-on.

With this series, we are making an incredible bet: that the promising discourse on the advances in research over the last thirty years—driven by researchers who are experimenting with a thousand ways, at the molecular level, to eradicate cancer cells—will be combined with the voices of those at the other end of the chain: the patients.
